Ethernet system Essay Example for Free

Ethernet framework Essay Robert Metcalfe with his partners at the Xerox Palo Alto exploration Center (PARC) built up the test Ethernet framework. As indicated by O’Reilly and partners (2000) the fundamental motivation behind building up the Ethernet framework is to interconnect an individual workstation with graphical UI called Xerox Alto. The test framework was utilized so as to associate Altos and furthermore printers and servers. The frameworks interface‘s signal check was designed in the Alto’s framework clock. This came about to 2. 94 Mbps. information transmission rate on the test Ethernet. Ethernet was initially known as Alto Aloha Network. Alto Aloha Network was changed its name to Ethernet by Metcalfe to demonstrate that the framework support Alto’s as well as different PCs. Furthermore, Metcalfe likewise bring up that the Ethernet has advanced route past the Aloha framework. He picked the name ether as to depict the fundamental component of the framework which is the physical medium conveys bits to all stations a similar route as the aluminiferous ether was once accept to multiply There are two different ways which can be utilized to apportion the limit of transmission media: baseband and broadband transmissions. Baseband transmission distributes the whole limit of the medium to one correspondence channel. It utilizes particular qualities by estimating the voltage in wire which just conveyed each sign in turn. In broadband transmission, the framework permits at least two correspondence channels to share the data transfer capacity of the correspondence medium. The framework utilizes the strategy of partitioning the data transfer capacity into recurrence groups which is called recurrence division multiplexing (FDM) which works just with simple signs. There is additionally another procedure called time-division multiplexing (TDM) that underpins advanced signs. Figure 1, show the contrast among baseband and broadband transmission method of activity: Figure 1. Contrast in the method of activity among baseband and Broadband transmission is utilized in the web facilitating organizations. This is a direct result of the higher velocities of the broadband. With the utilization of broadband, individuals can appreciate the full scope of internet providers like downloading recordings, music, watching motion pictures and handling web based games. Handsets have various rates which are estimated in MHz and furthermore indicated in frequencies. The bigger the estimation of the fiber center of the handsets, estimated in microns, there will be more data transfer capacity conceivable yet in addition the separation will be shorter. The 1000 Base-LX is the long frequency with a flagging pace of 1. 25â ±100 ppm GBd. This handset can utilize both 62. 5 and 50 micron multimode fiber and it additionally utilizes single-mode fiber optic links with separations of 440m, 550m and 5 km. Another transreceiver is the 100 Base-TX which utilizes 4B5B paired encoding to encode 100 Mbps information stream in a sign of 125 MHz. One sets is utilized for transmitting information while the other pair is utilized for accepting the information. Given this, one client can arrangement a framework for full duplex correspondence given that there are just interfaces in a similar crash area. It is either the two PCs are straightforwardly associated with one another by hybrid link or a PC legitimately associated with a switch. Full duplex correspondence result to multiplying the likely throughput yet not frequently arrived at more than the unassuming improvement. In light of Sheldon and Big Sur Multimedia (2001), interface total is the way toward associating together at least two information diverts so as to turn into a solitary channel which shows up as a solitary, higher-data transmission intelligent connection. Additionally this totaled connections can give repetition and adaptation to non-critical failure if the connections follow diverse physical way. By connecting the advanced lines, the connection total improves the entrance to open systems. The collection is additionally use in big business system to fabricate multigigabit spine joins. It likewise permits the network’s spine speed to develop progressively when the requests on the system increments without supplanting everything and purchase new and costly equipment. Bearer Sense Multiple Access with Collision Avoidance (CSMA/CA) convention was proposed for neighborhood (LAN) situations where in all the hubs are situated not many hundred feet from one another. The significance of the convention is to tune in up every hub to the directs in a brief timeframe before it transmits. The fundamental suspicion of the convention is that every hub ought to have the option to hear the transmission from each other station. Yet, this supposition that is damaged in get to network and this came about to a few issues. One of the major issues experienced is the concealed transmitter issue. This happens when the CSMA/CA can't work appropriately because of a remote hub can't hear at least one of different hubs. What's more, when this occur, various hubs endeavor to transmit their information at the same time over the mutual information accordingly coming about to obstruction with one another. To address the concealed transmitter issue, the 802. 11 standard uses the convention solicitation to send/clear to send (RTS/CTS). Prior to transmitting every parcel, every hub transmit a RTS bundle to different hubs to caution them that it is going to transmit information and after every transmission, it communicates CTS bundle. This procedure is time and data transfer capacity expending procedure and it is required for every single transmission by every single remote hub. Be that as it may, this procedure ledge doesn't address the concealed transmitter issue completely in light of the fact that RTS/CTS bundles are exposed to rehashed impacts. In many applications, the remote standard 802. 11b working at 2. 4 ghz is sufficiently abundant. This remote standard is the for the most part generally acknowledged standard among the three remote principles and furthermore the cost of the hardware is the least expensive as a result of the rising interest for the 802. 11g. Its separation will depend generally on the imparting gadgets whether it have line of site or not. Also, with less impediments among the transmitting and accepting gadgets, there will be better remote association and accordingly much better web surfing. The 802. 11b remote standard is adequate if utilizing remote course or passage just for web utilization in light of the fact that the association with web through broadband modem works about 2mbps which is quick. The 802. 11b exchange information at the pace of 11mbps which is adequate for web utilization. This gadget gets a good deal on hardware and gives incredible web riding administrations. Another remote standard being utilized is the 802. 11g norm. It is supplanting the generally acknowledged standard which is the 802. 11b in light of the fact that both work on a similar recurrence and the cost definitely goes down on items. This standard is a lot of fundamentally the same as 802. 11b in light of the fact that it additionally for the most part needs a line of site to accomplish optical execution. The two guidelines, 802. 11b and 802. 11g work at a similar recurrence scope of 2. 4ghz and are between operable with one another. All the gadgets of 802. 11g can speak with 802. 11 gadgets and the primary favorable position of the 802. 11g gadgets is that when moving documents betweens PCs or systems, it is for the most part at a more prominent speed. It is prescribed to utilize 802. 11g when utilizing remote association with move documents (information records, voice, music, and recordings) around the home and office. 802. 11g standard likewise permits makers to created gadgets which work at speed of up to 108mbps in light of the fact that it suggested while moving enormous information or sound records inside LAN. Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) is a security innovation that is utilized in remote system. This was made by an industry exchange bunch called the Wi-Fi Alliance which possesses the trademark for the name Wi-Fi and guarantees items that bear the name. WPA was made so as to reaction on the genuine shortcomings of the past framework, the Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) and furthermore to improve the confirmation and encryption highlights of the WEP. It executes dominant part of the IEEE 802. 11i and proposed to happen the spot of WEP. It was structured so as to work with all remote system interface cards yet not with original remote passage. Worldly Key Integrity Protocol (TKIP) is one of the key advancements behind WPA which manages the encryption shortcomings of the WEP. Likewise the WAP have worked in confirmation which is a key part. The WAP utilizes the RC4 stream figure which has a 128-piece key and a 49-piece instatement vector (IV). With the blend of the TKIP and the RC4 stream figure; this takes care of the issue of key recuperation assaults which was found in WEP. Likewise, the WPA gives significantly better payload honesty. WPA utilizes a more made sure about message confirmation code (MAC) yet additionally named as MIC which represent message uprightness code which is a calculation â€Å"Michael†. MIC incorporates an edge counter forestalling replay assaults. With the highlights of the WPA like having expanded size of the keys and IV’s, decreased number of bundles sent with related keys and including of a made sure about message check framework, it is unquestionably increasingly hard to break in inside the framework. There is one variety in WPA which is known as the WPA pre shared key (WPA-PSK), which is otherwise called individual mode. This was intended for home and little office use and systems which can’t manage the cost of the expense and intricacy of the 802. 1X confirmation server. To get to the system, the client must enter a pass expression, with 8 to 63 printable ASCII characters or 64 hexadecimal digits. This can be put away in the user’s PC with tact under most working framework so as to maintain a strategic distance from reemergence and must stay in the Wi-Fi passageway. Ensured Extensible Authentication Protocol (PEAP) safely transmits confirmation data which incorporates secret word, over wired and remote system. It is likewise a 802. 1x verification type for remote LAN’s. The PEAP is made by the Cisco Systems, Microsoft and RSA Security which is base on the Internet Draft submitted to the

Three Strategies to Improve Writing Feedback

Three Strategies to Improve Writing Feedback (0) When I was in high school, I turned in paper copies of all my essays and got them back marked up in red pen. The teacher gave us a few minutes to look over our corrections and then we either threw them away or filed them at the backs of our binders. This system worked well in some ways and was ineffective in others. The main benefit of receiving a hard copy of my feedback was that I definitely looked at it at least once. Sure, I had some classmates who looked at the grade on top, crumpled it up and chucked it toward the trash, but most students at least flipped through their corrections. Since online grading has become more prevalent, it is easy to forget to give students that time in class to look over their feedback. Once the feedback is posted, the students have access to it, but that does not mean they will take the time to actually read over the comments. Oftentimes, students do not want to read the comments because, naturally, they fear that feeling of being criticized. This leads us into my first feedback strategy. Strategy 1: Give positive feedback When looking at a piece of writing that needs a lot of work, it can be hard to think of positive things to say. Though it’s sometimes challenging, it is important because it builds the students’ confidence in their burgeoning writing skills. I always try to include some positive comments in all of the essays I assess. Comments like, “great hook!” or “effective complex sentence” make reading feedback less miserable for the students. I have even been known to use emojis in my comments if a particular sentence just makes me smile. Including positive feedback is something I strive to improve on each year. Strategy 2: Focus feedback on a few specific issues It is easy to overload a student with too much feedback. One sure way to make a student shut down is to mark up every other line of their writing. I have been guilty of this before. I have found over the years that it is better to try to keep comments focused on a few issues that students can focus on as opposed to trying to fix everything all at once. For example, if a student has great ideas but terrible grammar and organization, I will praise their ideas and comment on their organization. I may pick one grammar issue to correct throughout the essay, such as inserting missing periods, but if I comment on all the grammatical issues, that is all the student will correct. Grammatical issues are easier fixes. When a student sees fifty comments on their essay and forty of them are simple grammatical errors, they will fix those forty things and feel accomplished leaving the harder, more important comments unchanged. Citations are another big issue for me. If the student is using improper citations, I try not to comment on many grammatical issues so they focus on nailing down proper MLA format (depending on what you use in class, it may be APA or the Chicago Manual of Style). Strategy 3: Give students time to review feedback in class Finally, don’t forget to give students a chance to review everything. One strategy I used to make sure feedback sinks in is to have students complete a two-question reflection about their feedback: According to my feedback, what did I do well on? According to my feedback, what do I need to focus on improving in my next piece of writing? The first question allows them to congratulate themselves for what they did well on, reinforcing their confidence. The second reflective question is helpful because it enables students to see their writing performance improve over time based on the feedback they get on each piece of writing. In other words, if you (as student) determined that your transitions need work in one essay, and find that there are positive comments on your transitions in the next, that shows improvement! Along these same lines, I sometimes have students read their old writing before starting a new piece that has a similar structure. For example, in the beginning of the school year last year, I had my students write an essay about the themes of the books they were reading independently. During the second semester, they built on that skill by writing an essay which related the book’s theme to its central conflict. This essay had a similar structure and rubric so before they began writing, I had the students read their first essay and review the feedback to make sure they did not make the same errors again. Writing positive comments, focusing feedback on a few specific issues, and giving students time to reflect on their writing in class are three ways you can start improving your feedback today! Colorado River Pollution - 1861 Words

Pollution in the Colorado River By Axia College The Colorado River supplies water to most of the southwestern United States and despite this fact, pollution levels are continually rising and in some cases above acceptable limits. The Colorado River supplies and runs through five states and during some parts of the year to the Mexican border. During the rivers journey various types of pollutants come into contact to with it degrading the water quality downstream. The river water benefits humans in multiple ways the first obvious answer is by drinking it. Farming and other agricultural uses demand 60% and sometimes as much as 90% of its water. The preliminary report outlined a partnership plan modeled after the Chesapeake Bay Program. Although major differences exist between the Colorado River cleanup project and the Chesapeake Bay reclaim project, the fundamental principles of a successful program are similar. The final report delivered to Governor Napolitano is a detailed look into the major pollutants contained in the river system. The Alliance detail seven pollutants devoting a chapter to each one, including an action plan for dealing with the pollutant individually. The six pollutants covered are nutrients, metals, endocrine disrupting compounds, perchlorate, bacteria and pathogens, salinity/total dissolved solids, and sediments and suspended solids. Capital Punishment and Death by Fire - Free Essay Example

Sample details Pages: 5 Words: 1451 Downloads: 9 Date added: 2019/03/11 Category Law Essay Level High school Tags: Capital Punishment Essay Did you like this example? Introduction The cost for the death penalty is higher than if the convicted is sentenced to life in prison. The cost is two to three times higher because of the manpower needed to try a death penalty case is more involved than a person sentenced to life in prison. Death penalty cases require more jurors, experts (arsenal/psychological/medical), legal counsel, and time than a regular case. Don’t waste time! Our writers will create an original "Capital Punishment and Death by Fire" essay for you Create order Additionally, when sentenced to death, the inmate usually seeks appeals to overturn their conviction. This issue does matter to me; however, it depends on the case. Texas, on average spends $8,075 per year on students and roughly $22,000 per inmate a year. Since the top three major offenses committed in Texas are burglary of habitation, possession of a controlled substance, and aggravated robbery, we must review all the facts. According to the Texas Department of Corrections statistics, in 2016 under 9,000 people were incarcerated for murder. This is where my opinion of the death penalty, seriousness of a crime, and my tax dollar coincide. More inmates are spending time in prison for committing non-violent crimes than violent crimes. Murders should be in prison for life or put to death, in my opinion; we should spend our tax dollars only on violent, sexual, and murderous offenders and look for alternative less expensive sanctions for other offenders. I cannot say the cost of the death penalty does not affect me, because again, it depends on the case. The cost of lethal injection is a little under $1,500. I believe in what is just and if a 20-year-old commits a heinous crime beyond a reasonable doubt and lives to be 100 years old, taxpayers have spent 1.7 million dollars for the duration of his lifetime to house him when we could have put that money into education and rehabilitation of communities for the betterment of society. If less inmates were in prison, we would have the extra money for the violent offenders. The problem is not in the cost per day per inmate or the cost of the death penalty, it is in the lack of change in our judicial and legislative systems. The factors that I most believe contributed to Mr. Willingham’s reception of the death penalty are: Â  A lack of scientific knowledge and skill about arsenal by the fire chief and the detectives and misinterpretation of the scene; lack of new technological advances in science and technology Pressure from the community to have someone to blame for the crime Emotions and preconceived notions from the community His actions directly after the deaths of his three daughters His history of domestic violence against his wife False statements made by an alleged cell mate; a psychiatrist whom had never met or spoken to Cameron, determined he was a sociopath based on a few rock posters he had hanging in his home and a tattoo Mr. Willingham had a history of domestic violence against his wife, but even she believed that he could not be capable of such a crime. The fact that she stood her ground up until he was about to be executed says quite a bit about his relationship with his daughters. Mr. Johnny Webb also did not help when he lied about Cameron telling the court that he had offered up a confession to him and later recanting his testimony. Mr. Webb was an extremely unreliable witness in my eyes, after reading the court transcripts and the prosecutor a snake for fabrication of the confession. In a town a little smaller than Friendswood where events like this probably don’t happen that often, the fire Marshall was not privy to the technology that may have be easy to access in a larger city and may not have known that there were scientist that study this type of science and could provide a more thorough insight into what actually occurred that day. Mr. Willingham’s half-brother even stated t hat he had the mindset of a twelve-year-old which may have led him not to go back in and try to save his children. A person cannot be condemned for being a coward. There were many factors that contributed to him getting the death penalty one for sure was not going back in to save the children and then partying soon afterwards. Socioeconomic Status Does Play A Role In The Punishment Of A Person A person with the means to afford a good lawyer is going to be able to pay for the best defense their money can buy. Court appointed lawyers tend to have a heavier work load and several cases on their plate at once. They also may not have the resources or funds to hire extra specialist and scientists to testify on their client’s behalf. It took a separate legal team out of New York to investigate getting an arsenal expert to review the case file. Another factor was that he was not as favorable to people in his community as they would have liked for him to have been, you can see why they were so eager to blame him for the cause of the fire instead of fully investigating it. One lady on the documentary stated that if he was an upstanding man that worked and provided for his family, he would have been given at least the benefit of the doubt; the jury possibly used this same mindset to convict him. Mr. Willingham’s lawyer was court appointed and after hearing the initial evidence before the experts came in years later, his attorney did feel like he was guilty of killing his children. His counsel also urged him to take a plea deal for life without parole, but he refused. From the film I can state that it seems that his lawyer did not represent him the best way he could but after reading the case transcript, he was active during the trial and did a fantastic job of cross examining the witnesses. His lawyer wasn’t incompetent and in court did fight for his client even though he himself believed that his client was guilty. Again, with all the evidence provided at that present time, it would have seemed like he was guilty of the offense. Before technology, jurors had to rely heavily on eye-witnesses and testimony from investigators to decide the outcome. In states were there is no death penalty the crime is lower by about 25%, however there are only a handful of states that do not have the death penalty, so this could mean crime is low because there are fewer people. Also, a person is not going to think about getting the death penalty while in the heat of the moment, they will just carry out the crime and keep their consequences in hindsight. This question does not matter to me as I believe a person who commits rape against a child or adult should also be put to death, again this is my opinion. The numbers show that in Harris county only 27% of Houstonians believe in the death penalty. I believe in justice. A man killed his two children once here in Texas near where I used to live to retaliate against his wife. That in my eyes is despicable and he needed to be put to death. So again, the death penalty does not deter crime because the criminal isn’t thinking about the punishment only the satisfaction that they are gaining fr om the crime they are actively committing. Race does not affect the death penalty here in the state of Texas. After studying the execution graphs the state of Texas executed/or was going to execute 12 blacks, 16 latinos, and 16 whites between 2015-today. It seems to be even across the board and when looking at the race of the victims there was no more race on race crime than another. I was able to investigate several of the cases of those executed and convicted. Just as many whites killed whites as blacks did blacks here in the state of Texas. I did not look over the graphs of other states in detail, but Ohio was on the list with Texas often. I believe the death penalty coincides with the seriousness of the crime committed. Several of the criminals on death row were granted stays for mental impairments, I do not agree with this because they coincidentally were not too mentally impaired to commit these crimes and many of the stays were granted to blacks saying they needed treatment as opposed to the death penalty. I am blac k, and I agree that some do need help, however, insanity is not a free pass to commit rape and murder of an 11-year-old child or a stranger minding their business on public transportation.

The legal System of Australia

Questions: 1. What is compliance? 2. Discuss the different areas of law from topics in Week 6, 7 and 8 that emerge from these facts. Be sure to explain who may take legal action and what remedies and penalties could be applied. Cases and statutes should be used. Answers: Part 1: The legal system of Australia has provided many guidelines to run any business. Such law deals with the rules of compliance. Such rules are stated in the property law, Sales of Goods Act and intellectual property law. In order to open a business, the compliance rules are to be followed. To run a business Australia, there must be proper significance of the property or land in which the business is to be established. In the given scenario, the basic requirement is discuss the rules of compliance that are required for compliance. There has to be the discussion of the bubble characteristics as well the price of the real property. So to start a new business, the owner along with the property laws the guidelines of Consumer Protection Act is also needed to be followed must purchase the property. As customers are regarded as the key objectives of the business, there is always protection provided by the law to protect the customers. Lastly, the most important guidelines which are needed to b e followed is the laws that deal with intellectual property law because there must not be any conflict between the brand of business with another (Megarry et al. 2012). It is provided in the Property Law of Australia that the it deals with the various schemes about regulating the rights of the property in the Australian jurisdiction within the jurisdiction and other territories. It also includes the receptive of common law as well as the combining legislation. Australian property law has the observation regarding the non-uniform as well as high variation observation in its major cities as well as regions. (Bridge 2015). It is also seen that there are two types of property in Australia, which is known as real property and personal property. According to law, the term real property means the real estate or immovable property. This means that the property is legally defined, and its improvements were done by the human efforts. This includes machinery, buildings, mines, ponds, wells, roads, etc. Another type of property included under this law is known as the personal property. Thus, personal property can be stated as those properties which are movable. Movable properties are thus, stated as the large livestock property. But it does not include the immovable property rather the property which are established upon it are regarded as the personal property which includes wildlife, small livestock, etc. Thus, to establish the afresh business, there is a requirement of real property in Sydney to establish the business (Badenhorst et al. 2012). After establishing the business, the owner must be aware of Sale of Goods and Consumer Protection Act. The customers are regarded as the basic part of a business based on whom the business runs, so the Australian Consumer Law helps in providing the protection to them. Australian consumer law provides good services to the customer about the goods and services, as consumer protection laws deal with the organizations which ensure the total rights of the consumers as well as a legal trade and also provides correct and proper information regarding the market to make the customer aware. This act also provides proper protection for the most who belongs from the vulnerable society. The laws also provide protections against fraud and illegal or unfair trade practices. This law is a version of government regulations to provide the rights of the customers. Consumer protection is regarded as the rights of the consumer as well as the in the formation of the organization of the consumers. These se rvices must be clearly provided to consumers as the consumers are regarded as the person who acquires the services and goods for the use of ownership directly, using it production and manufacture rather than selling it. This law also states that the consumer protection law in Australia helps in protecting the interest of the consumer and also protects the promotion of competition in the market. This also strictly protects the consumers through the assertion via non-government organizations (Latimer 2012). There are also various safety measures given by the Australian Consumer Law to protect the customers which can be regarded as follows: Safeguarding to the customers against the hazardous goods which can affect their life as well as property. It is also the right of the consumer to get informed about the quantity, quality and price of the good. The customers must be provided with proper feedback from the company. The customer should also be provided with the wide variety of goods to purchase (Carney 2012). Lastly, the suggestion to establish the business is following the guidelines of the intellectual property law. This law deals with the patent system so that there is no issue of copyright. So it can be stated that according to Section 51 of Australian constitution the patent is the legal and basic rights. It is stated that the parliament according to this Constitution has the power to make laws and also to also to implicate the laws with peace, good government and order. Australian Patent Law is regarded as the temporary monopoly based on the use of invitation. Australia is regarded as the member state in the World Intellectual Organization (WIPO) (Davis 2012). According to the patent law of Australia, it is classified into two classes: The standard patent which has a term of almost 20 years. A patent, which is innovative with the lower threshold for the inventiveness, the term, must be of maximum eight years (McManis 2012). As per the law, it is stated that the process in the innovation process is faster and has lower fees. Like the rest of the world, Australia is regarded as operators in first file system regarding patent. It is also stated that the Australian Intellectual Property reports for generator in monitoring and for prosecution regarding Australian trademarks and patents Schwenzer et al. 2012). Thus, the supportive legal suggestion to establish proper a business in Sydney must be based on the following legal points as mentioned above viz Property Law, Sale of Goods and Consumer Protection and Intellectual Property (Burrows 2013). Part B: In this case study, it is seen that Manny and Bella are married from the year 2008, and they run their own business of selling pizza in the city. They named their business as Perfect Domino Pizza. Thus, they visited the showroom of Tuscan ovens Pty. Ltd to buy pizza for their own business. They asked the Manager of Tuscan and asked for the heavy duty to cook at least 30 pizzas per hour for 16 continuous hours per day. Manny also informs the manager that such an oven it required otherwise they will lose the customer during the pick hours. The manager assured them they would provide them new Tuscan XX commercial will satisfy their requirement. According to t o the statement and recommendation made by the manager Manny and Bella purchased an oven with $15,000. While they were waiting for the delivery of the pizza Manny and Bella started advertising the new oven in their restaurant but they decided to refer it as MB oven, and they did not mention the name of the real register Tuscan XX. Soon when the oven was installed, and they discovered that only 12 Pizza were provided in an hour. As a result, the business started losing money. Tuscan said they would not discuss this matters with Manny and Bella. According to this problem, we can implement the rules of customer protection laws because here the Tuscan did not fulfill the contract. As that the oven could made only 12 pizzas in an hour where they were to make 30 pizzas. In Australia Consumer Protection Law or consumer law is regarded as that the private law is the relation between business and also the individual consumer (Corones 2013). This law protects the customer against the fraud in case if any one suffers it. In this matter it is regarded as the fraud because Tuscan XX didn't fulfil the contract as they failed to make 30 pizzas and return only provided with 12 pizzas, later they even didn't discuss the Manny and Bella. Thus, the rules regarding fraud can be stated under the Consumer law protects a wider range of topics which includes privacy right, product liability, unfair practice regarding business, misrepresentation, fraud and other various kinds of business or other consumer interactions. It prevents the consumers fr om scams and fraud regarding sales as well as services contract. Certain things which are included under this circumstance include pricing, bill collector, personal loans utility turnoffs, etc. which may result in bankruptcy (Whish and Bailey 2015). There are various rights, which are provided by the Australian Consumer Law to protect the consumers from various aspects, which include: Safety rights- to safeguard the customers from the goods which are hazardous to their property and our life thus to make them aware of it. Information right- Each student must be given proper information regarding the products or the goods, which include the quantity, price as well as the quality. Choice of product- to choose and buy the proper product the consumers must be given the option of the wide range as well as various other choices. To satisfy the basic needs of the customer- It states about the right and basic needs that the people can demand such as health care, education, proper goods and services, clothing, food, sanitation, water and public utilities. Redressing rights- This Act provides the power to the customer to seek redress in regards to complaints. Educational rights of the consumer- The customers must be properly educated about their rights. Healthy environmental rights- This rights state about the right to live as well as the proper environment which is not at all threat to the present as well as future generations (Nayak 2015). Further, it can be stated regarding customer protection right that it defines consumer as someone who acquires goods as well as services to use the ownership rather than sell of products and manufacturers (Bently and Sherman 2014). But in this problem, Tuscan XX was able to meet the needs of Manny and Bella, so thus, it can be regarded as a case of fraud. Fraud according to law is regarded as a civil wrong. A Civil wrong is defined in the law of tort and also defined as a criminal offense (Aplin et al. 2013). The remedies of fraud under the law of tort may include the recession to obtain agreement or transactions by the means of fraud, damages which are punitive, deter the misconduct, etc. In this matter fraudulent is regarded as a defense in the civil contract, breach of contract, or rather the specific performance in a contract. But in a case of criminal offenses the category of fraud includes forgery, bank fraud, and fraud in insurance. Other requisites which are included in the criminal offenses regarding fraud can be stated as theft by the means of false representation, criminal fraud, etc. this amounts into remedy in the form of punishment or fine (Davison et al. 2016). In the case of ACCC v Cement Australia [2013] FCA 909 (10 September 2013), it was stated in this case that ACCC alleged for four exclusive contracts to acquire flash. The judgment of this case was handed down by 10 of September 2013. Justice Greenwood and the Federal Court of Australia that under section 45 of the Act Cement Australia was in enormous contraventions noticed it and there was a prohibition as well as effects of entering into on another agreement. Looking into the pros and corns of the court came to a conclusion and charged a penalty of $90 million for the purpose of general and specific deterrence. In this case, Tuscan XX is charged under fraud as they haven't provided any proper cause to many and Bella for not producing the pizza (Ricketson et al. 2012). My Papas Waltz Essays - Alcohol Abuse, Drinking Culture,

My Papa's Waltz In "My Papa's Waltz", Roethke discusses a very heartbreaking and distressful situation. He talks about alcoholism in the family and how it affects the members of the family. Growing up in a family full of alcoholism and abuse, I can relate to the point of view that this poem is written in. Although it is very sad, all of these things the poet describes are true of a family cursed with alcoholism. Whiskey breath had always been a familiar smell to me until I moved to Baton Rouge. The people in my household would drink all day long, starting with the morning cup of coffee and ending whenever their bodies just passed out from drunkenness. Whenever drunks come home from the bars, parties, etc. they cause havack throughout the house. Arguing and making lots of noise are two qualities all too familiar to me. People who drink will argue with anyone who tries to talk to them reasonably and will even get violent and destructive at times. As for being a spouse of a drunk, I have never been married but have experienced a scenario similar to that of being married. During high school, I dated a guy that was quite older than I and he was of legal age to drink already. Whenever he would go out to the clubs with his friends drinking he would always come home to his apartment and if I was there and everything was not clean and perfectly in order he would burst into fits of anger. He would yell, scream and throw things at me and even sometimes he would physically abuse me. In the morning, after there was time to sleep off the effects of the alcohol he would always apologize saying that he was going to slack off and try to quit drinking, but as we know that never happens. Finally in March of 1995, he went to get help and before we could find out if the long ordeal of the past four years was over God decided it was time for him to go to a better place where all of the problems would dissappear. Because of the horrible ways alcohol has affected me in the past 21 years it makes me not like drinking or going out to bars because it usually leads to bad things.

All About Ellipses

All About Ellipses All About Ellipses All About Ellipses By Mark Nichol Three dots. Dot, dot, dot. What could be simpler? Then why do those dots make so many writers dotty? The rules for use of ellipses are not as simple as they seem. But they are manageable. First, a definition: An ellipsis (from the Greek word elleipsis also the source of ellipse, meaning â€Å"an oval† is an elision of words that can be implied to mentally complete a statement; it can also mean â€Å"a sudden change of subject.† But the meaning we seek is another one, the grammatically mechanical one: Ellipsis and its plural form, ellipses, also refer to the punctuation marks signaling elision. (That word, from the Latin term elidere, means â€Å"omission.†) Despite the second meaning of ellipsis mentioned above â€Å"a sudden change of subject† ellipses are not recommended for this function. Ellipses signal, in addition to elision, a faltering or trailing off (in which case they are sometimes called suspension points), but to prepare the reader for an abrupt break or interruption in thought, use an em dash. The primary function of an ellipsis is to omit one or more inconsequential words from a quotation, as in this version of a sentence from above: â€Å"Despite the second meaning of ellipsis mentioned above, . . . ellipses are not recommended for this function.† (Note that punctuation, like the comma in this example, may be retained or introduced to aid comprehension.) Each dot is preceded and followed by a letter space. Word-processing programs have a single-character ellipsis, but this character, or three dots with no letter spaces, looks cramped and ugly; use the period key. Ellipses should not be introduced at the beginning or end of a quotation; however, if the source material includes ellipses in one or both locations, retain the characters. If an entire sentence is elided, four periods should be inserted between the framing sentences. The first, which immediately follows the last word of the preceding sentence, is the period ending that sentence. The other three, spaced as mentioned above, constitute the ellipsis. Note this example: â€Å"Three dots. . . . What could be simpler?† If a final portion of a sentence is elided, follow the ellipsis with a period after a letter space. The same technique is applied in the case of a comma or a semicolon. This elision of the preceding sentence illustrates: â€Å"If a final portion of a sentence is elided, follow the ellipsis with a period . . . . The same technique is applied in the case of a comma or a semicolon.† If an entire paragraph is elided, end the previous paragraph with an ellipsis following the period ending the final sentence; if, within a multiparagraph quotation, the beginning of a paragraph other than the first one is elided, begin the paragraph starting with the elision with an indented ellipsis. The two four-dot examples above illustrate the only two cases in which more than three dots should appear in sequence; an ellipsis always consists of three dots, but it may be preceded or followed by a period. A sequence of four or more dots otherwise appearing together is considered an unprofessional-looking error and should be avoided by any serious writer. An ellipsis may also be employed when a sentence is deliberately incomplete: â€Å"Hamlet’s ‘To be or not to be . . .’ speech† (though this could also be rendered without ellipsis) or â€Å"If I were you . . . ,† when the missing words are not considered necessary to aid in communicating meaning. Cultural Barries in Global Business Research Paper

Cultural Barries in Global Business - Research Paper Example Such reasons include an enabling business environment, which is a prerequisite for any business startup or venture. On the other hand, a business will face challenges related to the culture, which may act as a barrier on business. Furthermore, there are other challenges like leadership barriers, which affect business operations. Nevertheless, it is incumbent upon the business to deal with these challenges and use the best leadership methods. The United States is one of the countries that appeal to business ventures for obvious reasons. In this regard, a business will succeed in an environment that is politically stable and not volatile. In effect, the United States offers such an environment for business. Known as the free world, the United States is a model of democracy that is free from autocratic rule, which makes business operations conducive. As a result, a democratic state is one of the main reasons the United States appeals to setting up of businesses since the political clima te ensures effective economic legislations, which are essential for business. In effect, the lack of economic uncertainties such as unexpected takeovers due to lack of clear economic policies and legislations is important for business. Despite the creation of an environment whereby there is economic regulation of businesses in the United States, the country is the largest economy in the world in terms of GDP. In effect, it is common knowledge that economic strength translates to a higher per capita income amongst the citizens. Therefore, there is an available market for goods and services a business will produce for since the consumers have a high marginal propensity to purchase and consume. In effect, this feature of the economy of the United States appeals to businesses since the average consumer has a high purchasing power. The contemporary business world witnesses business increasingly committed to reaching global markets. Barkema, Bell, and Pennings (1996) noted, â€Å"Globali zation confers access to foreign markets, cheap labor, and other advantages† (p. 151). Nevertheless, a few firms do not realize the existent of these cultural differences. Nevertheless, businesses that identify cultural barriers will find approaches of dealing with the barriers in order to establish a competitive edge over their competitors. According to Leung, Bhagat, Buchan, Erez, and Gibson (2005), broadly defined as â€Å"values, beliefs, norms, and behavior patterns of a national group,† established cultures have an effect on the business activities and performance of individuals (p. 357). In the American society, one cultural belief that may affect business is the individuality amongst the Americans. According to E. Hall and M. Hall (1990), the American culture's biggest concern is â€Å"their own careers and their personal success than about the welfare of the organization or group† (p. 147). Americans will often come out as individuals who like to â€Å" handle their own problems and chafe at authority† (E. Hall & M. Hall, 1990, p. 148). As a result, this character trait may pose a big challenge to the leadership of a business since they may think that the average American worker was rebellious to the leadership in a firm. On the other hand, individualism, which is one of the most important aspects in the American culture, is a barrier to leadership. In this case, individualism works against teamwork in a business entity. In this case, since success in a business is a team task, the

Market Intervention Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words

Market Intervention - Essay Example The prime argument for the initiation of minimum wages has been the removal of economic disparity. As it has been observed time and again that the poor workers have been deprived of the minimum facilities and benefits by the employers all over the globe, the concept of minimum wages aimed to end the economic oppression. United Kingdom has not been an exception either. It was in the year of 1999 that the government of United Kingdom (led by the Labour Party) introduced the minimum wage. The initiation of the ‘National Minimum Wage’ is considered as one of the most significant interventions by the government in the labour market. The other major party of the United Kingdom, the Conservative Party which opposed the minimum wage previously in 1991, also vouched for the cause since 2005. The major objective of the minimum wages has been the rise of standard of living of the working class of the society (Center for Economic Performance, â€Å"Policy Analysis†). Prior to the implementation of minimum wages, the concerned quarters of the industry speculated that the installation of minimum wages might reduce up to two million of jobs alone in the market of United Kingdom. It was so predicted because it was estimated that the employers will reduce the number of posts as they would have to pay minimum wages for any new employment and therefore, they would rather try to extract more work from those who already have higher wage. But the various research reports prepared in the subsequent years proved such speculation to be impractical as there was no reported news of spillover. The implementation of minimum wage proved to be extremely beneficial to the female workforce of the United Kingdom. Also, it was observed that the implementation of such wage structure contributed to increase of wage for about 5% to 6% of the workforce of the United Kingdom during the initial years.

How Cell Phones Have Influenced The Media

How Cell Phones Have Influenced The Media It is not unfathomable that a 7th Mass Media may appear sometime in the not too distant future. This new mass media is the mobile phone or as some call it, the cell phone. With around 84 percent of American adults owning a cell phone, cell phone usage has already penetrated deep into our society. It is reported that two-thirds of cell phone users also use other features including texting, e-mailing, web browsing and apps (software applications that allow them to play games, access web content and access media or data). Only a third of Americans now use their cell phones just for making phone calls (Domain-b). CellularHYPERLINK http://www.articlesbase.com/computers-articles/how-cell-phones-have-changed-our-lives-432849.html HYPERLINK http://www.articlesbase.com/computers-articles/how-cell-phones-have-changed-our-lives-432849.htmlphones have had a major impact on our lives and the way that we perform everyday tasks. Many of these changes are apparent, while others we may not even be aw are of (Anonymous).A cell phone is the only universal gadget because the need to communicate is more powerful than the need to compute, to be entertained or to be informed (Ahonen 1). With a cell phone we get all of these things wrapped into one little neat device that fits right in our pocket. The cell phone is not the dumb little brother of the internet, nor the dumb tiny screen version of TV. Yes, the cell phone is small, but it has attributes that make it a superior medium in many ways and a dominating media channel in the three most important factors reach, audience accuracy and money (Ahonen 6). What Ahonen is saying is that while small in size, the cell phone will have a huge impact on mass media. The power of the mobile phone as a mass media is six elements not available on previous mass media. (1) The phone is the first truly personal media. A 2006 survey by wired revealed that 63% of the population does not share the phone even with ones spouse, it is that personal. (2) The phone is always carried. A survey in 2005 by BDDO found that 60% of the population sleeps with the phone physically in bed; a Nokia 2006 study found that 72% of us use the phone as our alarm clock. (3) The phone is the first always-on mass media, today many media offer alerts via the phone, what is on another real time media like TV, such as CNN breaking news alerts via SMS. Probably the most important, is that (4) the phone has a built-in payment mechanism. No other media has a built-in payment mechanism, even on the internet you have to subscribe to PayPal or provide a credit card, etc. But already today, older media collect payments through the phone. TV shows from Big Brother to American Idol earn bi llions via SMS votes. Perhaps the most novel phenomenon is that (5) the phone is a creative tool available always at the point of creative impulse. The camera phone (which is also our video recorder and podcast recorder) is in our pocket, always at the ready to snap images and clips. User-generated content is radically altering the media world as seen at YouTube etc. And (6), mobile is the only mass media with near-perfect audience information. Where most print are sold on newsstands and even subscriptions do not tell who in the household consumes the periodicals, and TV and radio rely on Nielsen ratings and similar audience estimates, the internet promised accurate audience measurements. That proved to be a false promise, as firewalls, shared PCs, multiple accounts, removed cookies and users deliberately falsifying their info have proven. But on cellular networks, every individual phone user is identified uniquely, across the billions of phones worldwide. Having a pre-paid account (voucher/pay-as-you-go) does not diminish the unique identification of every phone. Thus mobile for the first time offers near-perfect audience data (Ahonen). Mobiles are an integral part of our lives so much that many of us cannot remember a time without them. To have a mobile has become second nature and we are generally never separated from them we eat, breathe and, yes, even sleep with our mobile phones making them the most private and personal accessory we own today. And yet, there is still a lack of understanding about how mobile can be a powerful, complimentary mass media. It can be boiled down to two key differentiators: 1) mobile is interactive; and 2) mobile has unique features including SMS and MMS. These differentiators create something that no other media can the ability to respond to, initiate and maintain a dialogue between those wanting to communicate, whether they are family and friends, colleagues, or brands and advertisers (Ahonen, Foreward). Like the internet before it, today the phone can replicate everything the previous six mass media can do. You can consume newspapers, read magazine articles, listen to radio and podcasts, buy MP3 songs, watch TV, even watch whole movies on the phone. Any web content can be consumed on the phone, and the phone easily supersedes the interactivity of the web, because e-mail and IM are already on the phone, but SMS and MMS messaging are unique to mobile. Nick Wiggin, the head of the Mobile Marketing Association, says: The mobile phone will be the red-button technology of the future it will enable interaction with broadcast media, be that radio, posters or TV. Mobile is the media glue that links different communications solutions together (Bonello). These days people are all about portability we want to get news, listen to music, and even watch some of our favorite TV shows all on the go. Mobiles are an integral part of our lives, so much that many of us cannot remember a time without them. To have a mobile has become second nature and we are generally never separated from them. We eat, breathe and, yes, even sleep with our mobile phones, making them the most private and personal accessory we own today(Ahonen). The future will be even more mobile. We will be connecting more people, devices, pets, plants, etc all via mobile, not via the traditional internet or television or any other technology (Ahonen and Moore 55). Mobile is a simple solution for many people to simplify their lives and how they choose to get their information. Will cell phones phase out more traditional media such as print media, Television and Radio? This is still uncertain but largely people own twice as many cell phones as TV sets, there are three times as many cell phone subscribers as internet users, and four times as many cell phones as Personal Computers. Advertising, news, TV, internet giants, social networking and even Hollywood movies and printed books are now rushing to capture their share of this 7th mass media (Ahonen 1). Through about six decades of continuous evolution, the mobile phone has retained its relevance to the life of the modern man. At every stage in his growth curve, it has undergone metamorphosis, adding features and functionalities that make it even more indispensable. It started as an extension of the landline; a bridge between the home and office landlines. It found relevance in the need of the modern professional to remain in communication in and out of home or office, at play, in the car, at lunch and anywhere else. The mobile phone has since moved up from this simplistic role to become more actively involved in the way modern businesses are conducted (Awe). How has mobile changed news media? How many people get their news has largely changed. First was radio, then television, and then came the internet. So where does the cell phone fit into all of this? The cell phone is a valuable tool for both obtaining news and capturing it live. Chicago even has its very own 9-1-1 video call line where citizens send images from their cell phones to the police department if they witness a crime has been committed. The images from 9-1-1 callers will allow authorities to analyze emergency situations more objectively, says Jose Santiago the executive director of the citys Emergency Management and Communication. They also can be used as evidence in a criminal case, he said (Main). Portable news via a personal cell phone is accessible to the public 24/7 wherever that specific person may be; this has made news on the go a likely choice for anyone with a cell phone who wants to keep up with what is going on in the news. Nearly half of American adults say the y get at least some of their local news and information on their cell phone or tablet computer according to a survey by the Pew research center (Purcell, Rainey, Rosenstiel, and Mitchell). How we get our music is also changing due to the mobile phone. In adapting to an age where the passion for music, particularly among the young and the young at heart, has risen to obsessive proportions, mobile phones have largely become music devices. There are mobile phones on the market that are anything between a radio transistor and an MP 3 player. There are many that can give almost the same music experience as traditional music devices. Apart from downloading music for listening pleasure, mobile phone users can also download any music of their choice as ring tones (Awe). Music was the first content type to emerge as paid downloaded content to mobile phones 11 years ago. Today mobile is a giant new market opportunity for the music industry. (Ahonen 46). With so many changes and advancements in technology these days it is not surprising that music and how people get and listen to their music has transitioned as well. The portable music revolution has been with us for only a few y ears according to an article in Wired Magazine online, but we may see a slow transition from a standard mp3 player to a cell phone when it comes to music access and playback. This change will not be driven by cell phones that act like MP3 players, dishing out music that must be organized by the user. It wont even be about software that streams your own music to your phone. Instead, the next great thing in music technology will be cell phone applications that replicate the experience of listening to interactive, customized radio stations at a computer (Buskirk). According to Buskirk, interactive radio on your cell phone can replace your mp3 player. Most interactive radio services such as Pandora, Flycast, and AOL radio have free and paid versions for getting access to your music. Of course not everyone will automatically throw away their standard mp3 players in favor of this option. One of the downsides to accessing music via cell phone is that the music is streaming online so if you have no signal, then you have no music. Accessing music with our cell phone will become a viable option and will continue to grow in popularity but it will not totally replace other more traditional methods. Books are also transitioning. In fact, while items like the Amazon Kindle are popular portable reading devices, there is another portable device some others prefer, the cell phone. A growing number of people are getting their book fix via mobile phone. It is considered a more convenient method over the dedicated e readers available. The idea of downloading a book to a device you already own is most appealing to those on a budget or to those who simply do not want to carry something extra around all the time to access their books (Kharif). In this technology-enamored nation, the mobile phone has become widespread as an entertainment and communication device that reading e-mail, news headlines and weather forecasts, rather advanced mobile features by global standards, is routine. Now, Japans cell-phone users are turning pages. Tens of thousands of Japanese cell-phone owners are poring over full-length novels on their tiny screens. You can read whenever you have a spare moment, and you dont even need to use both hands, says Taro Matsumura, a 24-year-old graduate student who sometimes reads essays and serial novels on his phone. Such times could be just around the corner in the United States, where cell phones are become increasingly used for relaying data, including video, digital photos and music( Associated Press). It has also been noted that cell phones may be more important to the future of publishing than dedicated e-reading devices. Whereas in the US dedicated devices such as the Kindle, Nook, and iPad get most of the spotlight, these devices have been slow to make it to the rest of the world and so most people elsewhere read on their mobile phones. Since mobile phones tend to be considerably less expensive than e-book devices, in the developing world they are far more likely to be owned for other purposes already (Meadows). Using cell phones for internet access is also very popular these days. Although most people still access the Internet on a computer, the use of mobile devices to check e-mail or browse the Web is growing, outpacing even laptops in some markets, according to a new study (Associated Press). What is media convergence in relation to cell phones? Convergence is the process where several media channels come together to exist and operate in synergy or rather in harmony. A media convergence is basically seen in every persons cell phone, glance down at your palm and there sits a device that can click a photograph, edit and modify the same and also send it like a mail. Some people like to define media convergence simply by stating it to be a merger of mass media and communication outlets. In some cases multi utility of the same gadget or some media was also attributed to be a media convergence (K). By virtue of it always being with you, the mobile phone is the most personal of devices. Let us look at the following questions: How many of us have personal pictures on our mobile phones? (It holds our precious treasures) How many of us keep personal appointments or reminders on our mobile? (Like a personal assistant) Is our mobile phone used for an alarm? (We go to bed and wake up with it) Does our mobile phone serve as a GPS? (Gives directions helps us get to where we need to go) There are many uses and most importantly many personal uses for a cell phone because we are busy, always running around either for work or for home the mobile device has grown in importance , and continues to do so. Marketers know this and so does everyone else in the world. They want to interact with us as close to that moment of want as possible. That moment when we see something and we want it! They want to have a hand in creating that moment for us. Marketers, merchandisers and everyone else want to interact with us as much as possible and wherever we find ourselves. The mobile phone allows the message (whatever that may be) to reach us wherever we find ourselves. For many of us, where they find our mobile phone they will most likely find us! Thats why media convergence is taking place at the mobile phone. Not because of the phone but because of us (HC). Blogger Cdauphin states in his blog on Open Salon about Media Convergence and the smart phone: As an avid cell phone user I find that my use of the computer, a past necessity, seems to have gone downhill. Different mass media being converted into the newest technologies has been going on for decades, however I find that the technologies of the smart phones many of us use today has really taken this to a new level and opened up a whole new way of accessing as many media portals in one small device. So much of my life can now be found in this little device that fits in my pocket that my Internet, television and even book usage has gone down significantly. As a daily news addict I have not only changed from reading the newspaper to watching it on television, but now I get an alert on my phone from BBC News every time there is a new breaking story. Being interested in the happenings around the world no longer takes any effort- my phone does the work for me (Cdauphin). Mobile advertising is the next big thing according to an article in the Economist, last year spending on mobile ads was $871million worldwide. At the moment, most mobile advertising takes the form of text messages. The 2.5 billion mobile phones around the world can potentially reach a much bigger audience than the planets billion or so personal computers. The number of mobile phones in use is also growing much faster than the number of computers, especially in poorer countries. Better yet, most people carry their mobile with them everywheresomething that cannot be said of television or computers. Yet the biggest selling point of mobile ads is what marketing types call relevance. Advertisers believe that about half of all traditional advertising does not reach the right audience. Less effort and money is wasted with online advertising: half of it is sold on a pay-per-click basis, which means advertisers pay only when consumers click on an ad but mobile advertising through text message s is the most focused: if marketers use mobile firms profiles of their customers cleverly enough, they can tailor their advertisements to match each subscribers habits. While it is true that mobile phones have helped us connect and make changes in how we get our information on a day to day basis, there are also conflicting views on whether or not this is a good thing. Though cell phones can be wonderful, liberating tools of communication, freeing us from the confines of an office, and providing more leisure time, they often do the exact opposite. Cell phone use has blurred the boundaries between work and non-work time, increasing stress and tension within families and between friends. As Noelle Chesley, assistant professor of sociology at the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee, explained in a report on CBS News, The question of blurred boundaries may become an irrelevant one for the next generation of workers, spouses, and parents because they cannot imagine life any other way. As Slate commented in his Adbusters essay, It seems the more connected we are, the more detached we become(Dangl). One of the greatest disadvantages of the cellular phone i s the fact that we do not talk to strangers when traveling anymore. In the past, several people waiting for a bus would engage in a conversation while they were waiting. People who traveled the same routes every day might develop friendships along the way. This situation does not happen anymore. Today when people are waiting for a bus, they just pull out their cell phones and speak with old friends, missing out on the opportunity to make new ones. In large cities, many people do not know their neighbors, even though they may have lived in the same neighborhood for years. As a society, we are beginning to lose the face-to-face contact that was such an important part of our lives in the past. Cell phones are a great asset in aiding in our everyday lives. However, you should remember, however, to hang up every once in a while and pay attention to the world around you (Anonymous).

The Most Popular Dance Genres Essay -- zumba, classical ballet

Dance is a universal expression. People can easily tell stories or express how they feel through this form of art. Just like an instrument, dancing is how a dancer makes music. In general dancing has changed throughout time. How we dance now is not how it was done in the fifties and sixties. Like music dance evolves according to what is popular. Something is constantly being added to all of the different genres of dance. Although there are many different styles of dances in the world, there are some that are more popular: Zumba, Ballet, Salsa, and the most popular, Hip Hop. Zumba is a dance craze that has become popular in the last few years, bypassing other genres of dances that have been being done for centuries. What is Zumba you ask? Well Zumba, Spanish slang for buzz or move fast, incorporates hypnotic Latin music with easy-to-do moves that leads to a dynamic and effective workout program. This is the reason to why Zumba has become so widespread, it’s fun, easy and it benefits your health in a major way. The way you do Zumba is by attending a Zumba class. There you are taught by an instructor different moves along with other women from ages thirteen to seventy years old. You can also buy the workout DVD’s and shake off your pounds in the privacy of your home. Like other dances it’s a combination of other genres of dances, mainly Latin or Spanish dance moves mixed with a little bit of hip-hop. This fun dance was an accidental discovery way back in 1986 by Alberto Perez. Perez was teaching an aerobics class in Santiago de Cali, Colombia when he used his personal music to teach class instead of using his normal music. Even though he did this back in 1986 this form of aerobics didn’t become popular in America until 2002. Today ... ...rrow. Each and every individual has their own personal favorite genre of dance weather it is Zumba, ballet, salsa, or hip hop. They all are just to express yourself so go out and enjoy dancing! Students Reflective Analysis Applied Management Project Writing Process Education Essay

In the broadest sense brooding analysis is the study where pupil ‘s contemplations on the AMP ( Applied Management Project ) composing procedure, the pupil ‘s sensed public presentation, outlooks, and lessons learnt can be expressed. This is based on treating the cognition and feelings during and after the completion of the thesis instead than merely merely looking at the past events and recapping everything without supplying any analysis. However, in order to go a brooding scholar the qualities that are basically needed are unfastened mindedness and committedness to alter by recognizing personal prejudice. Contemplation on the work done is a critical accomplishment to be learnt that may be easy applied in future life state of affairss whilst working or transporting out some undertakings. By looking back and critically analyzing the events that took topographic point merely so you can measure your work and place the countries in your personality that demand betterment. Acerate leaf to state that brooding study would be uncomplete without acknowledging the failings and supplying the drawbacks as the experience from the undertaking is non expected to be perfect. Additionally, it has to be mentioned that this brooding analysis study non merely includes personal experiences and the accomplishments learnt from the undertaking but it besides includes lessons that can be applied in the future undertakings. Hence, this indicates that contemplation is the nucleus of a womb-to-tomb acquisition procedure as merely by analyzing the experiences we can larn from them.Remembrance of ExperiencesThe experiences from this undertaking can be easy compared to the rollercoaster with the outlooks, the temper every bit good as enthusiasm invariably traveling up and down. To get down with, the aggregation the subjects itself was the experience that did non go forth me apathetic. This was preceded with the expectancy and the anxiousness that the subject of our group would be interesting ne'er minding the fact that it might be hard one. The outlook was to acquire interesting subject. The rubric of the subject received was ‘The Feasibility of Selling to the World ‘s Poor by the Multinational Organizations as a Means of Poverty Alleviation ‘ and it was met with the content from the group members intending that it is a good, interesting and really relevant subject to the group members as some of them come from hapless African or Asiatic states. However, my primary ideas about the subject were non every bit positive as I would hold imagined they would be. However, the following twenty-four hours was spent reading the given articles and brainstorming as it was suggested by the coachs and it proved to be of great value. This enlightened me as I started to understand more about the subject and the demands of the undertaking. This enabled me to try to place the possible purposes and aims of such subject that could be set to be achieved in AMP undertaking. Additionally, in order to keep the records of the events and for better, more in-depth contemplation maintaining the notes of specific occurrences, experiences or thoughts that came into my head allowed me to look at them subsequently with the different position and to critically measure in order to understand what I have learnt from those experiences. This suggestion by the lectors to maintain notes proved to be really helpful in order to reflect on the experiences and learn from them. Apart from maintaining the journal of the events for the brooding analysis, separate journal was created for literature reappraisal which was the chief portion of the undertaking. As in my old studies I ne'er used to maintain a journal of different studies, articles, books that are needed in order to compose the study. This was done merely by taking all the relevant stuffs and analyzing them at the same clip instead than maintaining the notes of the beginnings. Due to the enormousness of this AMP undertaking maintaining the journal of mention beginnings was indispensable portion of the literature reappraisal in order to use them expeditiously at the phases of composing the undertaking. Generating separate worksheet and spliting the columns into four parts ( beginning, writer, page, sum-up of information ) allowed me to easy track the beginnings in the literature reappraisal subdivision of the undertaking. It non merely enabled me to be more organized but more significantly it proved to be clip salvaging activity. Another major portion of AMP undertaking that required developing peculiar scheme was creative activity of selling program for selling to the hapless. This seemed to be particularly hard undertaking as there is more literature available about assisting the hapless through assorted assistance organisations instead than selling to the hapless as a mean of poorness relief. This different attack to poverty relief was initiated by the transnational companies merely in recent old ages therefore the handiness of good beginning stuff on this affair was instead scarce. This factor created the feeling of defeat. However, alternatively of seeking to happen published stuffs the determination was made to seek on the web sites of big transnational companies and to seek for the information about poorness relief undertakings that they are set abouting. This enlightenment provided me with legion instance surveies and studies from the web sites straight and suggested the possible market and merchandis e that could do great impact in poorness relief in hapless countries. This is when the important determination about the feasibleness of selling irrigation pumps to the hapless in Africa was made. Having decided on the merchandise that I believed to be of paramount demand in African states I had to happen the state that this merchandise will be sold in. After long hours of research into the most suited market the determination was made to sell irrigation pumps in Uganda where state has adequate rainfall during the twelvemonth and adequate lakes and rivers but the husbandmans are non able to capture and use this H2O in field irrigation, therefore, holding over 32 million of cultivable land laying untapped. This seemed as perfect merchandise for their market in order to spread out the concern and relieve the poorness. Having examined the cardinal phases of the AMP development the following portion of the study provides the feelings and experiences during and after each of these stages with the designation of the lessons learnt.Personal Feelingss and Learning from the ExperienceAs it has already been mentioned AMP experience was ne'er stable during the whole procedure. Personally, I saw this subject as ill-defined and instead hard as I did non cognize a batch about the NGOs or other assistance organisations in poorness relief procedure non even adverting the fact that I would hold to move as a adviser for the transnational company that aspires to sell to the hapless in order to relieve poorness. Not merely I felt confused about the subject but worried every bit good. Thus, after reading legion subjects sing poorness relief the assurance and exhilaration returned to me. However, the exhilaration about the subject diminished as I began to understand the wideness of the subject. However, this experien ce is positive as it demonstrated that in the hereafter the things should be expected with a more realistic attack and taken more carefully. The undertakings that ab initio appear either hard or easy may non be as they seem to be one time you start reading relevant stuffs. This foremost required broader reading around the subject country and brainstorming while researching. Merely so it was possible to construct a more realistic attack and cut down the possibility of undertaking failure every bit good as to understate the emphasis degree that was received due to miss of apprehension. After reading legion articles and diaries I learnt how to choose chiefly the beginnings that are relevant. Due to huge handiness of secondary informations ( journal articles, authorities studies, instance surveies, researches, etc. ) on the issues of poorness and poorness relief some of the articles seemed to be relevant judgment from the rubric whilst the information inside the article was non truly relevant to the subject given. Therefore, this needed to develop effectual method of choosing the right articles. After reading several articles I noticed the form of the articles that are relevant and the 1s that are non. The usage of CRAP ( currency, dependability, authorization, intent of the beginning ) trial suggested by the University of Bedfordshire librarian Peter Godwin helped greatly in choosing the right beginnings for the undertaking. Besides the accomplishments mentioned above I distinguished more of them that I learnt while making this undertaking: Self direction and motive. As thesis is unsupervised undertaking unlike the undergraduate thesis this allowed me to larn from this experience the ways to self manage and actuate myself by giving some wagess to myself after each phase of thesis was complete and on clip. Team effectivity. This is indispensable accomplishment that I have learnt as it is the footing of the success in squad work. The ability to work efficaciously within a squad has helped me a batch in seeking to happen solutions to assorted issues and is greatly appreciated by the directors in future employment. This besides showed that the ability to portion the cognition within a squad is invaluable. In add-on to this, I learnt to work efficaciously in a group in a clip constrained state of affairs. Problem work outing. Having faced with assorted jobs during AMP such as clip direction, motive, etc. allowed me to understand how good I can get by in the unplanned state of affairss in the hereafter. Planing and organization/Project direction accomplishments. This is the accomplishment that I acquired in the initial phases of the undertaking and proved to be non merely utile but clip economy every bit good. Always seeing myself as instead organized individual during AMP undertaking I learnt the ways to better these accomplishments ( note pickings, clip direction ) . Furthermore, I learnt how to be specific and efficient by stipulating the country of the survey and puting the boundaries. In this sense, planning and organisation is really valuable lesson for future undertakings. Self analyzing and rating. This is closely connected to self direction and motive as it is the accomplishment which demonstrates how good one can concentrate on the undertaking and work systematically to accomplish set ends. Furthermore, the ability to measure the success in the undertaking is indispensable portion of any undertaking. The country of self contemplation appeared to be rather new to me as I seldom tried to measure my old undertakings These the nucleus accomplishments carry important function in the future undertakings every bit good as employment because the employers look how you adapt the accomplishments that you province you have in different state of affairss. In brief this undertaking taught me: Better clip maintaining pattern. Better note pickings and summarising pattern. Better acquisition and group work pattern. All this gives valuable lesson which will be really utile at ulterior old ages in life while working on some undertaking in the company or merely working with some people that are from different background. Besides prove that sharing the thoughts is valuable.Group Dynamics and Learning from the ExperienceThis experience turned into good acquisition pattern as sharing cognition among the group members provides the ability to analyze the affairs from different position. Then you can reflect on what you where chiefly believing about the subject and what you think now after the group meetings and compare how this cognition has changed. I ever thought that single studies or undertakings have to be done on single footing significance that you merely see composing down merely your personal ideas or thoughts. But by making so I may be disregarding the thoughts of the others as they might believe in wholly different manner and would non accept my thoughts. Therefore, the first phase of AMP un dertaking as being group work has given really valuable lesson. I became more cognizant of the benefits of sharing the thoughts among group members. Given that most of the group members come from different civilizations and different backgrounds it implies that with different degrees of cognition allow the thoughts to be shared and reflected upon from many different positions. Team work was non something wholly unfamiliar to me as we managed to garner really difficult working group members since the first talks of Postgraduate surveies. This has proved to be really dedicated and difficult working group in many occasions when fixing group works. Therefore, without any vacillation the same group was formed for AMP undertaking with the add-on of other 4 member as the groups had to be of formed of 8 people. Even though we still were in our little group of 4 that we have known each other for about a twelvemonth, we were able to broaden our heads with the other group members. This turned out to be even more productive than we thought because all the other 4 members were from Africa, therefore, the issues of poorness were their mundane life back place. In this sense, the determination has been made to concentrate on the states of Africa so that we would be able to hear from the primary beginning the effectivity or non effectivity of assorted assistance organisati ons in African states. In this sense, they were able to portion of import information about the poorness relief in Africa and the methods that work and the 1s that do non. Furthermore, we were able to hold really productive treatments because for most of us the things that we thought were true turned out to be merely superficial imitation of poorness relief and normally enduring for some short term. This enable us to reflect on the thoughts that we ab initio were traveling to discourse in our undertaking and to explicate the purposes and aims in a better manner. In this sense we were able to oppugn the given stuffs better and with the more existent to life position. This is because the research was based simply on the secondary research and we could non travel to Africa transport out the research and see what methods work and what do non so the possibility of holding group members who come from African parts was truly honoring for our group. In add-on to group work group kineticss was non something that we have ne'er encountered before as we had legion undertakings prior to this 1. However, in this group due to it being larger and due to the importance of the undertaking it was possible to detect the behaviors that were non seen before. Some group members felt demotivated, others felt scared of the importance this undertaking was transporting. Therefore, more statements and fluctuations of thoughts could be observed as compared to smaller group that we had before. Hence, some group members thought that it is better to work on their ain and non to listen to the assortment of sentiments. But for me personally group work ever was and ever will be the set where I can larn from the others and I can portion my ideas with the others as good. I seldom relied merely on my personal sentiment when it comes to making undertakings or studies, therefore, I was ever seeking for person that I could portion my thoughts with and to acquir e some different penetration while hearing other individual ‘s sentiment. This is for a really simple ground. If 9 people are stating one thing and one is stating another it is really improbable that those 9 people can be incorrect. Even if there are instances that we had conflicting thoughts group work allows to come up with some sort of solution that is normally suited for everyone. However, to be a successful member of the group is ne'er easy as you have to oppugn yourself invariably whether you contribute sufficiently, whether they see you as a valuable member of the group or whether you gain more from the group work instead than being on your ain. Chapman ( 2006 ) in his surveies states that group work is one of the most of import factors in today ‘s society as this proves to do work more efficient and increases productiveness. This thought is farther elaborated by Brodbeck and Greitemeyer ( 2000 ) proposing that the interaction within the group allows to develop new thoughts every bit good as to critically measure the bing 1s. The possibility to portion the thoughts and complement on each other has ever attracted me as this allows me to larn something new, to rectify myself if my perceptual experiences are incorrect and to portion my cognition with the others. I have ever seen the group work as a better manner to success in comparing to single work. In add-on to this, Forsyth ( 1999 ) supports the thought of group work instead than members working individually.Lessons for Future UndertakingsDespite the fact that I have learnt legion lessons while transporting out the undertaking there are still certain countries that need to be improved and applied in future undertakings or group activities. These can be suggested as followers: Open mindedness to the thoughts and suggestions expressed by the group members. Accept the unfavorable judgment and learn from it. Better clip direction. Improve consciousness of contemplation on the events. These are the activities that I personally found disputing to accept and alter my attitude towards them. Therefore, they are the 1s that I will try to better in future undertakings.DecisionsAs this study suggests the brooding analysis of the events and experiences is the key to life larning procedure as it allows acquiring deeper penetrations into the experiences and bettering on them. This brooding study non merely included the events that took topographic point while set abouting AMP undertaking but it besides revealed the failings of my personality every bit good as provided with some valuable lessons for the future undertakings. The first subdivision of this study presents the assorted phases of AMP whilst other subdivisions provide with the lessons learnt and the personal feelings at every phase of the undertaking. Besides reflecting on my personal experiences this study besides gives the contemplation on group kineticss as group work was one of the initial phases of the underta king. It has been suggested that group work is perceived as more productive attack to work leting to portion the thoughts among other members of the group. Overall, this study suggests that set abouting AMP undertaking was a really practical experience which awarded with legion lessons for the future undertakings.
